There are two ways you can participate in this project: the “BibleDome” version and the “Study Hall” version. You don’t have to choose one of the two versions, but it’s important to know the differences.
What is The BibleDome? #
Imagine having your own little corner where you can experiment freely and create your own personal Bible translations. Without the strict rules of our methodology, you can let your creativity run wild.
Why The BibleDome? #
- More flexibility: No rigid guidelines! Translate however you see fit.
- Initiative: Discover new perspectives and contribute your own ideas.
- Support: Our experts are also here to answer your questions and provide feedback.
How does The BibleDome differ from “Study Hall”? #
While we strive for formal equivalence at the study level in our regular Discord channels, the BibleDome is a bit more relaxed. Here, it’s about discovering and interpreting the Bible in a personal way.
Do you have to choose between “The BibleDome” and “The Study Hall”? #
No! You can continue working in “The Study Hall” on Discord as well as in “The BibleDome”. Both parts of the project should be able to benefit from each other. We regularly copy Study Hall verses into BibleDome, so you can compare your translation.
How to access The BibleDome? #
Go to https://www.tengg-online.at/antetoki in your browser (there will be a better domain in future?) and use your Discord account to login. You have to be a member of this “lipu sewi pi toki pona” Discord server in order to login successfully. Please note, that the current version is desktop only and does not support mobile devices. If you are a programmer and willing to improve the software, please contact the Moderators.
What about “The Study Hall?” #
So if you’re interested in a more precise translation, keep reading the next chapters of this guide. Everything from this point onward relates to our activities on the server: the “Study Hall” version
